"South Park" Contraversy -- What else is new?

In a "South Park" episode, the writers wanted to show an image of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad but their network, Comedy Central banned. The writer's deemed the network hyporcits because in the same episode it showed Jesus defacating on President Bush and the American flag, and the episode was aired during Christian's holy week. Instead of showing the image of Muhammad, they showed a message reading "Comedy Central had refused to broadcast an image of Muhammad on their network."

I actually do think Comedy Central was being a little hypocritcal because they should have the same respect for those who believe in Jesus that they do for those who believe in Muhammad. Their explanation was "In light of recent world events, we feel we made the right decision." I also think "South Park" should be pulled off the air all together. There should be a minimal number of censorship complaints for television shows.

Video Gaming on Cable TV

You can honestly find EVERYTHING on TV these days! I have often flipped through the channels and have found poker games being played in tournaments on TV but now Professional Video Gaming will be shown on Cable TV by the end of this year. The Major League Gaming announced yesterday that a programming deal in which USA network will air seven one-hour episodes in the fall. It is said "video gaming as a new kind of extreme sport". I just found it interesting what people are putting TV and I'm very curious to see what the outcome of this will be.

How bad can "Seseme Street" really be?

Some advises of the American Academy of Pediatrics have a lot to say about the release of the newest edition to the Seseme Collection: "Sesame Beginnings." It is made especially for children younger than 2. The American Academy of Pediatrics says it is not a good idea for young children to become dependent on TV at such young ages. The Sesame Workship says they have now found an effective way to encourage communication between parents and young children.Rosemarie Truglio, the Sesemae Workshop's vice president of education and research says "We have to stop blaming parents, and create responsible content for them ... the key is moderation. We're not advocating just plopping kids in front of a TV screen."

I really don't see what the big deal is! I watched tons of TV when I was younger, and I turned out fine!!

"Bedford" sex on the WB?! I thought this was a family station?!

After One Tree Hill, tonight was the premiere of the WB's newest and probably the most provocative show, “The Bedford Diaries”. If you were like me who was highly enticed by the previews for the show, you were interested to see what all the fuss was about. In the pilot six college students are introduced and they are taking a seminar about sexual behavior and the human condition. Their first assignment is to take their video journals that they have to carry around all semester, and compose a video message of how they would change their sexual past.

All six characters have very different pasts but somehow they are all linked together in some way or another. For instance Natalie (Corri English) use to date Richard (Milo Ventimiglia from Gilmore Girls, also on the WB). Natalie is a survivor of attempted suicide and the day she jumped off one of the academic buildings was right after the last time she had sex with Richard. Owen (Penn Badgley) is Sara’s (Tiffany Dupont) younger brother and he is interested in Natalie and wants to help her with her problems. Sara had an affair with Professor Macklin (Matthew Modine) who teaches the seminar.

I am personally interested in what else this show is about. I’m anticipating to see if it will continue on the air because there has been a lot of controversy about the show involving the FCC and the content of the show. I guess we’ll jus have to wait and see. For further inside information take a look at:

TV to DVDs

Ok so remember how upset you were when you're favorite tv show was taken off the air? Well I distinctly remember crying my eyes out when Full House ended, and I probably wasn't the only one. How great is it that you can now purchase the complete seasons of your favorite shows?? At first it started off with the DVDs of shows that were currently on the air but lately the DVDs of old shows that are syndicated. Today, if you were to walk into Tower Records or Best Buy the DVD section is over flowing with TV show DVDs. To search for your all time favorite TV show on DVD, check out:
