Who's your Idol?

So I'll be honest, I gave up on American Idol after Fantasia won, a couple cycles ago. But this season I've watched a few episodes. It wasn't surprising to me at all that most of the finalists aren't very talented.

The problem with American Idol is everyone has their own opinions. Everyone has their own favorites and their least favorites. Like my Mom, as soon as her favorite idol is voted off, she vows to never watch the show again. But she's still a faithful watcher.

Her favorite this season is Melinda, as is mine. I think shes almost everyones favorite, the judges never have anything bad to say about her. I'd really like to see her win. But seriously -- what is the deal with Sanjaya!? I don't even know what he is still doing on the show! I think a lot of Americans are feeling the same way. So who is voting for him?!?!

Anyway, who's your idol??

Continuing Wildlife

Bindi Irwin is set to debut her new show on June 9th. It is going to premiere on Discovery Kids Channel. "Bindi: The Jungle Girl" is designed to get more kids interested in wildlife conservation.

Bindi is the eight year old daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin. Steve died after being stung with a sting ray last September but his legacy still lives on through his wife and children.

I don't know much about wildlife but from the looks of it, Bindi is very brave for interacting with these animals like she does. She will be interacting with all kinds of animals from elephants to koalas.

Bindi began shooting the show early last year with her father and the show will air with footage of Bindi and her father before his death. She is also hosting an hour special, "My Daddy the Croc Hunter" that will feature clips of Steve and young Bindi.

I happen to catch Bindi on the Ellen Degeneres show just a few short months after the death of her father. She spoke proudly about the work her father did and how she wanted to be just like him.

I think this show is great for young kids to see another young child interact with animals. Because if there are any kids out there like me, who are afraid of animals, they will appreciate it!

What is she going to do next?

The new Miss USA will be crowned this week in a live televised show on Friday. The so called badgirl, former Miss USA Tara Conner from Kentucky will be faced with questions about her alleged crazy night in New York City that almost cost her her crown.

I never thought she was in the wrong for doing what she did. She is a young girl just like Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and the others who likes to go out and have a good time. Granted she was a little irresponsible and knew someone would see her.

I guess there is the fact that she has this crown she is a role model. But she is still human and can make mistakes. These competitions are kind of pointless. I really don't understand what these women gain when they get the crown and why they have to uphold these standards. And who does Donald Trump think he is!? But I wont get into that ... I think Rosie O'Donnell already handled that!

I can't say I'll be tuning in to watch the show on Friday but I probably will look out for any statements Tara has and who the new Miss USA is. I know most of America will be thinking about what she's going to do to embarass herself!

Cavemen?

Is anyone else as annoyed as I am with the Geico commercials with the Cavemen? Well apparently ABC just ordered the pilot for "Cavemen" the series? Seriously?

I think it's getting a little out of control. I'll admit I chuckled when I saw the first few commercials but after a while it was no longer an advertisement for Geico. It was mainly about the Cavemen!

If you live under a rock and don't know what Cavemen I speak of. In the Geico commercials, the Cavemen are "offended" because Geico's spokeman claims their website is so easy, "even Caveman can do it."

Is this really becomes a sitcom ... I may have to give up on television.
HA who am I kidding!?

In light of the Academy Awards

Ok so maybe I love Ellen Degeneres but the Oscar's are pretty entertaining this year. On top of the fact that Ellen is hosting the show, the executives of the show are trying different things that make it a lot more interesting than past shows. The shows been going on for 79 years now, its about time things get more interesting!

My favorite things so far are the sound effects choir and Ellen! Her comedy does help the show go along a lot smoother. There are other performances from songs who are nominated for best songs of the year in a movie. Also during the award for best animated picture, they had the characters from Happy Feet, Monster House, and Cars sitting in the audience.

I'm really looking forward to the winners for Best leading actor and actress and Best picture of the year. I'll be watching and I hope you are too!

Ohhh Sarah Silverman ...

Sarah Silverman has her own new show on Comedy Central airing Thursdays at 10:30pm. She has been known for some of her outrageous stand up comedy and how sometimes some of the things she talks about shouldn't been made fun of. Her stand up covers everything from September 11th, AIDs, Martin Luther King, and rape. Often not what you would see most comics joking about but how far is "pushing the envelope."?

I actually sat down and watched her show. I didn't find anything morally wrong with what she was doing BUT it just wasn't funny! I don't want you all to think I didn't give it a chance because I did. Nothing really made me chuckle and I couldn't really follow the story.

After reading some history on Sarah and some of her work, I don't know if I could give her show another chance. Only because I feel some of the things she's done or sad isn't something anyone should be laughing out.

Maybe I'll find something else to watch on Comedy Central?

The Evolution of Dramadys.

Dramady - a show that can not be categorized as a comedy or a drama. But has a little bit of both.

Half hour sitcoms have become a thing of the past and ABC is starting a revolution. Dramadies such as Ugly Betty and Desperate Housewives are hour long shows filled with comedy and drama. They are something different for viewers to enjoy and laugh at.

Ugly Betty is by far my favorite new show. (Even if Heroes won the People's Choice for best new show). It has this mixture that has never been seen on television before. I feel as if it can appeal to all audiences and make everyone laugh. It also has it's dramatic surprises such as Alex Meade's return as Alexis Meade. The cast is full of familiar faces such as Vanessa Williams, Rebecca Romjin, and Judith Light. Along with some fresh new ones like Golden Globe & SAG Award winner America Ferrera, and Ana Ortiz. I really believe Ugly Betty will continue on giving this great message of being yourself and not being ashamed of who you are for a long time.
